CMU Insights Presents YouTube – Friend or Foe?
CMU Insights presented a session at Denmark’s SPOT+ for the first time. CMU MD and Business Editor Chris Cooke explained the strained relationship between YouTube and the music industry, reviewing the so-called safe harbours that YouTube relies on and how the European Copyright Directive may change them.

He then discussed the issues – but also why YouTube is still a key partner for artists and labels – with Niels Mosumgaard, Chairman of Danish CMO Koda and songwriter association DPA, and Rasmus Nordqvist, spokesman on cultural and media affairs for The Alternative in the Danish parliament.
